Beyond by Dinosuar Jr

Below the review are YouTube videos of all Beyond songs (live versions where possible) by Dinosaur Jr at various concerts.
I thought I wouldn't like this album, given the long break between this and the last album Hand It Over which I didn't like too much. The tendency for great bands to reform in old age and nose-dive, but I was wrong. Allmost Ready, Pick Me Up is beautiful, and during this song am back in awe. 'Lou's song' Back To The Heart is one of the best. Vocals on Been There All the Time bring back The Wagon perfect power-pop rock. Almost redundant to say how good the guitars are. It's Me is an anthem, We're Not Alone is beautiful. Everything up until this point in the album sounds upbeat, so 'Glad to be back together', you wonder if it will leave out the gentler and stark side Dinosaur Jr always put in their albums I Got Lost has it, and makes it an album. Lightning Bulb takes me back to Gargoyle on their first album. This isn't a tired reunion, it's just another great Dino Jr record. Not rusty punk of early times, despite back to original line up.
